Royal Challengers Bangalore will become Royal Challengers Bengaluru, starting in the 2024 Indian Premier League. The franchise announced this on Tuesday, the first time it has changed its name since it was founded in 2008.

The news was released soon after RCB hosted a function at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where players from both the men’s and women’s teams, including Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and newly crowned WPL champion Smriti Mandhana, were in attendance.

RCB also revealed R. Vinay Kumar, a former fast bowler for Karnataka and India, as the third candidate into their hall of fame during the ceremony. Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers were the first names on that list last season.

RCB also released its new jersey for the IPL 2024. Here’s a sneak peek video of the same.

Fans can buy the jerseys at popular online stores like Amazon, Puma, Myntra, etc., and RCB Online Store too.

Following their first game, RCB will play games in Bengaluru against the Punjab Kings on March 25, the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29, and the Lucknow Super Giants on April 2. On April 6, they will travel to Jaipur to play against Rajasthan Royals.
