14 days of bank holidays in April across states in India! Check details here!

In certain states, banks will be closed for 14 days in April. As per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday list, this will cover Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays. Customers are advised to check the bank holidays relevant to their location before they visit banks.

1. 1st April: 

On April 1, 2024, banks will be closed to close their annual accounts. On April 1, however, banks will still be operational in Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, and Meghalaya.

2. 5th April:

In observance of Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birthday, or Juma-ul-Vida, Telangana, Jammu, and Srinagar will have bank holidays.

3. 9th April:

Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Jammu, and Srinagar, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, will all have bank holidays in observance of Gudhi Padwa, Ugadi Festival, Telugu New Year’s Day, Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba), and the first day of Navratra.

4. 10th April:

Kerala will celebrate Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) on this day. Hence banks will have a holiday.

5. 11th April:

Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) (1st Shawaal) will be a holiday in all states except Chandigarh, Sikkim, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.

6. 13th April:

On behalf of the Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival in Tripura, Assam, Manipur, Jammu, and Srinagar. The date also falls on the second Saturday of the month.

7. 15th April:

Bank branches from Assam and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed.

8. 16th April:

Banks will remain closed in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh on behalf of Ram Navami.

9. 20th April:

Bank branches in Tripura will remain closed.
