Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant played a brilliant inning of 41 runs in the 26th match of IPL 2024 against the Lucknow Super Giants on Friday night, April 12. With this inning, he completed 3000 runs in his IPL career. He has become the Indian batsman to score 3000 runs in the fewest number of balls in the history of the IPL.
Rishabh Pant broke the records of legends like Yusuf Pathan, Suresh Raina, Suryakumar Yadav and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Based on this inning of Pant, Delhi Capitals registered their second win of the season by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets.
The batsman touched the 3000 run mark in IPL in 2028 balls. Earlier this record was in the name of Yusuf Pathan. This former explosive batsman had achieved this feat in 2062 balls. Rishabh Pant has now made this great record by taking 34 balls less than him.
With this feat Pant has become the third youngest Indian batsman to reach this milestone. Shubman Gill is the youngest Indian to score 3000 runs in the history of IPL, while the second in this list is Virat Kohli.
